A Dedicated Criminal Defense Law Practice in Lincoln, Nebraska
I have focused my Lincoln law practice on criminal defense since I graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1993. I am licensed to practice before all state and federal courts in the state, including the Nebraska Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Unlike many criminal defense lawyers, I have also walked in a prosecutor's shoes. I am a former state prosecutor and public defender. I am a member of the Nebraska Criminal Defense Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
My Promise to You
As your defense attorney, I promise to take the time to listen to your needs and your concerns. I will explain the law and process for the legal matter you are facing, as well as all of the options available to you. Together we can then make a decision that will best fulfill your needs.
Some defense attorneys take the approach that they are the lawyer and they know what is best. I prefer to use the collaborative approach. I will explain the law to you and share as much information about your case as possible. I will show you the state's discovery, so you will know all of the evidence the state prosecutor has against you. By keeping you well-informed, you can become my partner in helping me defend you.
I am committed to providing you with personal service. As your attorney, I will handle your case from beginning to end. I will give you my cell phone number so you can contact me any time with questions and concerns about your case.
No lawyer can promise an outcome or give you odds on what will happen. However, with more than a decade of criminal law experience and a background as a state prosecutor, I can evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the state's case against you. That experience enables me to create a strong defense.
I defend people facing traffic violations and criminal charges, including drunk driving, drug possession, assault, domestic assault, robbery, rape and Internet solicitation.
How Much Will It Cost?
The cost of hiring an attorney will depend on the nature of the charges. Felonies, which are serious crimes that carry the possibility of prison time, will cost more than misdemeanors. After your free initial consultation, I will tell you up front how much the cost will be and will include the fee in a retainer contract.
